Otherness is a concept used to objectify the other. This installation demands a corporeal response through sensory perception. A Western-type house edification questions the meaning of migration, which requires flexibility, releasing, and reconstructing the identity fractured due to the displacement

I am exploring the ephemera of dwelling. Spaces play an essential role when the subject has to relocate and migrate to a different location, a readaptation process embedded in the moving.
I am investigating these adaptation processes, the tolls within the subject, the fragility and ambivalence of a cardboard container, the significance of the contents, and the ability of contention for the subject.

Relocation, uprooting, and migration are processes we endure as humans. Although personal spaces provide a safe environment, we appropriate them with our things to feel safe and to adapt.
Using my moving boxes, I explore my process of adaptation. Once the boxes kept my belongings safe, the objects released their value to the present vessel, sheltering and nurturing me while adapting to the new space.

A person's identity is assigned at birth with their first label, a name. Migration and globalization promoted the standardization of the alphabet in countries such as Pakistan, Korea, China, Japan, Iran, and India.
This installation explores the flexibility of humans; the enclosed space serves as a refuge and flexibility of the self. Within the space -the known space-the home, the name became a memory, a trace

As we continue to move forward in our semio-capitalist reality, we are faced with the weight of systems and power dynamics that come into play during stamping migration processes. The officer has the power and can let you in or out, leaving you waiting in anticipation for his decision.

Languages are systems of communication developed by societies to communicate and establish relationships. New economies homogenized languages to be efficient and fulfill market needs.
The first name of a person in their native language is their identity and connection to their culture and heritage. Migrating from non-latinized languages means losing that identity and replacing it with a new one in the system
